Job summary

PSS Cross Country Infrastructure Solutions in Ruston, LA is seeking a Driver/Material Handler to pick up and deliver products and perform warehouse duties. You will operate forklifts, manage inventory, and ensure safe, on-time deliveries.

This role emphasizes accuracy in shipping/receiving, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 70 lbs occasionally.
• Familiar with standard warehouse practices.
• CDL and forklift experience or ability to obtain certification.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills for shipping and receiving.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record and 3+ years of driving experience (if driving duties are required).

Responsibilities

• Safely pick up and deliver products within the local branch area using company vehicles.
• Drive company trucks to and from customers or vendors, completing deliveries on time.
• Transport products to local customers using company trucks and trailers (if applicable).
• Maintain company vehicles by keeping them clean and ensuring preventive maintenance checks are completed; promptly report issues or concerns.
• Pull, stage, and prepare products from designated inventory locations with accuracy.
• Package and secure outbound shipments, ensuring products are damage-free and ready for delivery.
• Unload incoming trucks, verify materials against delivery tickets, and resolve discrepancies.
• Check vendor packing lists, update PO Stock Tickets, and accurately record inventory movements.
• Stock and organize products in assigned locations while keeping inventory records current.
• Conduct inventory control audits to maintain stock accuracy.
• Safely operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and ladders.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
• Consistently follow company safety protocols and procedures.
