Job summary

Cape Electric in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Warehouse Associate / Furniture & Lighting Delivery Driver to join our showroom team. You will transport furniture and lighting to customers, uncrate items, and place them in homes, plus assist with showroom setup.

You’ll drive safely, verify loads, record deliveries, and work with warehouse equipment. The role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with starting pay around $17 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive truck or van to transport materials within the specified area.
• Verify loads against shipping papers and obtain signed receipts.
• Scan deliveries into the system and maintain truck log per regulations.
• Determine best routes for timely delivery and record delivery information.
• Inspect truck equipment and report any deficiencies for safe operation.
• Move and load/unload inventory in warehouse and showroom as needed.
• Operate warehouse equipment and follow safety procedures.

Job Overview

The location will be at our Southfork Showroom, performing Warehouse Associate/Furniture & Lighting Delivery Driver responsibilities. Transport furniture/lighting to customers; uncrating furniture and placing in customers home. Hang/move lighting in the showroom, as well as furniture.

Typical Functions

• Safely drive truck or van to transport materials within specified area;
• verify loads against shipping papers;
• obtain signed receipts for material delivered;
• Scan each delivery into system before leaving the warehouse; maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations;
• Determine best route for effective delivery of product that will satisfy customers' expectations of a timely delivery;
• record delivery information;
• inspect truck equipment and supplies as required, and immediately report any deficiencies to ensure safe operation;
• Perform any and all physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouse and showroom, as well as load and unload trucks;
• Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment and any material(s) contained thereon in the manner consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and the manufacturers' instructions; follow all Company safety procedures;
• May perform Material Handler responsibilities when not engaged in primary responsibilities;
• Promote and maintain good customer relations; may promote new sales as opportunities arise;
• Take an active role in communicating customer feedback to Company management, including customer complaints, requests, returns, performance, competitive information, and potential opportunities.

Compensation Details

The expected pay rate for this position is starting at $17.00 per hour depending on experience.

Additional Information

CDL not required, but must pass DOT medical exam, drug test, and background check.
