Delivery Driver - Non-CDL - Atlantic Tire Distributors

Atlantic Tire Distributors has openings for Non-CDL Delivery Drivers!

Summary:

Drive a light vehicle, such as a truck, with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), primarily to deliver or pick up tires. May load and unload vehicle; as well as other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications:

Schedule: 7am - complete (Monday-Friday)

Pay: $17.50/hour

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
• Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure proper working condition.
• Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
• Properly document goods delivered or loaded.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
• Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
• Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
• Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.

• Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment: Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, or box trucks.
• Getting Information: Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
• Handling and Moving Objects: Using hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving materials.
• Working Directly with the Public: Greet customers in a friendly manner.
• Performing Physical Activities: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates: Providing information via telephone, written form, e-mail, or in person.
• Inspecting Equipment: Identifying causes of errors or problems through inspection.
• Static Strength: Exerting maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.

While performing this job, employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions. The truck may or may not be air-conditioned/heated seasonally. Employees must regularly lift up to 100 pounds and frequently lift or move more than 100 pounds. Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalency, with a minimum of one-year commercial driver experience required.
