Job description

Meyer is a growing, family-owned and operated company where you are more than an employee number, you’re family! The Box Truck Driver drives company trucks to make route deliveries and completes paperwork. Works closely with internal departments to ensure product is delivered to customers in a timely manner while staying compliant with DOT regulations.

Schedule for Box Truck Delivery Driver (non CDL):

1. 20.30 per hour
2. Monday – Friday
3. 5:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (End Time Varies on Most Days Due to Workload / Coverage)
4. Earlier start time as needed when covering transfer run: Monday 1:00 am; Tuesday - Friday 3:00 am. (rotated with the team)

Box Truck Driver duties include but are not limited to:

• Drive company trucks to make route deliveries to customers and meet delivery schedules.
• Maneuver trucks into position to load and unload delivery trucks.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Report defects, accidents, and violations.
• Complete paperwork necessary for company and DOT regulations.
• Communicate with Fleet Management on maintenance issues and preventative maintenance of delivery trucks.

Requirements for Box Truck Driver (non CDL):

• 1-3 years of experience driving 26-28 ft box trucks or other commercial motor vehicles over 10,001 lbs. (Required)
• Valid truck driver license and relevant endorsement for the specific state.
• Willing to submit to drug screens, background checks, and maintain a valid DOT medical card.
• No recent moving or driving violations; must remain insurable at standard insurance market rates.
• Operate / Drive a forklift.
