Job summary

Qualifications

As a Class A Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting products to customer locations in a safe and timely manner. Your primary duties include loading and unloading freight, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, and ensuring deliveries are made according to schedule. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate delivery records, inspecting vehicles for mechanical issues, and communicating effectively with dispatchers and customers. Essential Functions:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Commercial Driver License (CDL):
• A valid Class A CDL is essential, allowing operation of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) exceeding 26,000 pounds and towing trailers or other vehicles with a GVWR of over 10,000 pounds.
• Clean Driving Record:
• A record free of major violations such as DUI/DWI, reckless driving, or multiple moving violations.
• Experience:
• Previous experience as a Class A driver is often preferred, though some employers may provide training for new drivers.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, sometimes up to 50 pounds or more, and perform tasks such as loading and unloading freight.
• Safety Compliance:
• Knowledge of and adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations regarding hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and safety inspections.
• Communication Skills:
• Ability to effectively communicate with dispatchers, customers, and coworkers.
