Job summary

Boston Battery is seeking a reliable Part-Time Route Delivery Driver to join the Woburn team. You will deliver batteries to auto customers and dealers on a set Monday–Friday schedule, with a starting hourly rate of $24.00–$28.00 based on experience.

Responsibilities include safe driving, pre/post inspections, inventory maintenance at dealer locations, customer education, and using handheld devices to print tickets and input data. Boost sales with excellent service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform physical work.
• Experience driving non-CDL delivery trucks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and follow traffic rules.
• Safely deliver batteries to auto customers/dealers on the assigned route.
• Maintain accurate inventory at dealer locations and display.
• Rotate batteries per FIFO and collect used cores when needed.
• Build relationships, address customer issues, and educate on products.
• Print tickets and input data using handheld devices.
• Ensure payments are collected or current on payment plans.
• Perform physical work and drive non-CDL trucks 8–10 hours daily.

About Your Future Job

You will be assigned to our Woburn, MA location. The typical schedule is Monday–Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm. The starting hourly rate of pay will be $24.00–$28.00 based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip truck inspections and follow all traffic rules.
• Safely deliver batteries on time to auto customers/dealers, following the assigned route.
• Maintain clean customer rack display with accurate inventory at dealer locations.
• Rotate batteries to follow first‑in, first‑out rule based on battery age.
• Collect used batteries (cores) when needed.
• Be friendly and develop relationships, address customer issues, and educate on new products.
• Use people skills to increase sales.
• Use a handheld device to print tickets and input data as needed.
• Ensure customer payments are collected, or they are current on their payment plan.
• Perform physical work such as lifting and carrying heavy batteries at 15‑20 stops daily.
• Safely drive non‑CDL trucks for 8‑10 hours per day; routes may be city or suburb depending on the day.
• Become a battery product “expert”; gain a clear understanding of battery types and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Reliable and show up to work on time, on a regular basis.
• Meet the schedule requirement, including overtime expectations.
• Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and can pass a driving history check (5 years accident‑free, 3 years free of moving violations).
• Pass drug screen (including marijuana) and pre‑employment/criminal background check.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have or obtain a valid DOT medical card prior to beginning employment.
• Have at least 1 year of experience driving non‑CDL commercial trucks (vans, box trucks or HINO).
• Have exceptional people‑skills, can communicate, stay focused and organized.
• Be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds on a regular basis.
• Use technology with no issue (handheld computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.).
• Wear required PPE.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
• Seek a long‑term career, not just a brief stop.
