Job summary

Boston Battery Wholesale, a franchise of Interstate Batteries, is hiring a Delivery Driver for our Runnemede, NJ location. Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am start; no nights or weekends. Starting hourly rate is $22.00–$24.00 based on experience.

You will deliver batteries to dealers and customers, lift heavy loads, and build customer relationships. Requirements include a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, 21+ years of age, and 1+ year of non-CDL truck experience.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; must pass driving history check.
• At least 21 years of age; able to obtain a valid DOT medical card prior to starting employment.
• At least one year of experience driving non-CDL trucks (vans, box trucks, or HINO).
• Able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds regularly.
• Comfortable using technology (handheld devices, tablets, smartphones).
• Be reliable and punctual, with regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections and follow all traffic rules.
• Safely deliver batteries on time to auto customers and dealers following the assigned route.
• Maintain clean customer rack display with accurate inventory at dealer locations.
• Rotate batteries to follow first-in-first-out based on battery age.
• Collect used batteries (cores) when needed.
• Develop relationships with customers and educate on new products to increase sales.
• Drive a 6-bay truck daily; work 8–10 hours per day; 15–20 stops daily.

We sell batteries, specifically the Interstate Battery brand, known for reliability and preferred by automotive professionals. This role is based at our Runnemede, NJ location. Typical schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00am until route completion. No nights or weekends. Your starting hourly rate will be $22.00 to $24.00, based on experience. As a Delivery Driver, you will safely deliver batteries to dealers/customers following the route assigned by our Dispatcher. You will lift and carry heavy batteries and use your outgoing personality to build relationships and increase battery sales.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip truck inspections and follow all traffic rules
• Safely deliver batteries on time to auto customers and dealers following the assigned route
• Maintain clean customer rack display with accurate inventory at dealer locations
• Rotate batteries to follow first‑in‑first‑out rule, based on battery age
• Collect used batteries (cores) when needed
• Be friendly and develop relationships, address customer issues, and educate on new products
• Use good people skills to increase sales
• Use a handheld device to print tickets and input data as needed
• Ensure customer payments are collected, if needed, or that they are current on their payment plan
• Have knowledge of NJ, Delaware, and Pennsylvania
• Drive a 6‑bay truck daily
• Perform physical work such as lifting and carrying heavy batteries while delivering at 15‑20 stops daily
• Safely drive non‑CDL trucks 8‑10 hours per day, route may be in city or suburbs
• Become a battery product expert and gain a clear understanding of battery types and customer needs

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual, showing up to work on time, on a regular basis
• Can meet the schedule requirement, including overtime expectations
• Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; able to pass a driving history check (5 years accident‑free, 3 years free of moving violations)
• Can pass drug screens, including marijuana, and a pre‑employment/criminal background check
• At least 21 years of age
• Have or be able to obtain a valid DOT medical card prior to beginning employment
• Have at least one year of experience driving non‑CDL commercial trucks (vans, box trucks, or HINO)
• Exceptional people‑skills; can communicate, stay focused, and stay organized
• Can lift and carry up to 70 pounds on a regular basis
• Comfortable using technology (handheld computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.)
• Willing to wear required PPE
• High school diploma or equivalent education
