Job summary

Alameda Electrical Distributors in San Francisco, CA is seeking a full-time Delivery Driver to join our expanding team. You will be responsible for ensuring merchandise is packaged properly for shipment, unloading at stops, and maintaining vehicle safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to work 5:00am–1:30pm.
• Overtime may be required; as needed.
• Familiar with warehouse and delivery operations; strong math ability.
• Professional behavior with excellent customer service.
• Familiar with computers.
• Pass background/drug test; forklift and driving tests; clean MVR.
• Minimum 2+ years of delivery driving experience.
• Must drive a 24- or 26-ft truck.
• Able to lift 70 lbs or more.
• Able to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Package merchandise properly for shipment.
• Assist unloading items at each stop on the route.
• Verify unloaded merchandise against shipping documents.
• Maintain vehicle safety and general upkeep.
• Assist in warehouse duties and provide customer service.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and secure loads; obtain confirmations.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure appropriate merchandise to be delivered is packaged properly for shipment.
• Assist in unloading proper items off the truck at each stop on the route.
• Verify that merchandise being unloaded is correct and accounted for via shipping documents.
• Ensure general maintenance and safety of the vehicle.
• Assist in warehouse duties on an as-needed basis, and most importantly provide excellent customer service and teamwork.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections, secure loads, obtain delivery confirmations, pick up customer returns and will-call orders as needed, and report any delivery discrepancies or safety concerns to management.

Qualifications:

• Able to work5:00am -1:30pm

• Be familiar with warehouse and delivery operations; have strong mathematical ability
• Demonstrate professional behavior with an excellent customer service attitude
• Familiar w/computer
• Must be able to pass a background/drug test; pass a forklift test & drive test; and hold a valid driver's license with a clean MVR
• Minimum of 2+ years of delivery driving experience required
• MUST be able to drive a 24 or 26'truck
• Able to lift 70lbs or more
• Able to work independently with little supervision AND with a team
