Job Overview

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday; 3am start time

The Bulk Delivery driver is responsible for safely and efficiently operating diesel-powered tractor-trailers to transport and deliver products or materials in packaged or palletized form to and from customer locations for local and regional distances, following Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and Company policies. This position involves unloading pallets within customer accounts, repositioning trailers, and interacting with customers and sales teams to ensure excellent service.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-shift activities to ensure a productive shift, including reviewing schedules, checking equipment, and verifying loads.
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Operate tractor-trailers legally and safely, following all laws and policies, and complete required freight paperwork.
  • Plan trips effectively using maps, GPS, and other information to ensure timely deliveries, and record hours of service electronically.
  • Load and secure cargo properly, and maintain seal control as required.
  • Read and understand trip information, load and unload freight using appropriate equipment, and foster positive relationships with team members and customers.
  • Perform post-shift activities such as coupling/uncoupling trucks, securing equipment, and completing paperwork.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Must read, write, and communicate in English, and understand FMCSA regulations.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid FMCSA physical certification and Class A CDL within 60 days.
  • Preferably have two years of tractor-trailer driving experience and sales experience.
  • Capable of lifting 50 lbs, using a pallet jack, and climbing safely on/off vehicles.
  • Ability to read trip information, plan trips, and use a cell phone/hand-held device.
  • Willing to work varying shifts, including overnight and early mornings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record, CDL required; Hazmat certification if necessary.
