Job summary

Leeps Supply Company is seeking a delivery driver to work with the distribution team to provide complete, accurate, and on-time deliveries to customers. You will represent the company in a professional, safe, and cost-effective manner that complies with DOT and other regulations.

Essential functions include loading and securing shipments, inspecting equipment, navigating routes, maintaining communication with the team, and enhancing customer satisfaction through service and problem resolution.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with for-hire endorsement and clean driving record.
  • Lift/carry/maneuver heavy material or equipment (up to 100 lbs)
  • Able to read a map and accurately plan route
  • Able to handle difficult customers with diplomacy and tact
  • Able to follow written instructions and documented procedures
  • Education: High school diploma/GED required
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in similar position preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing items and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers
  • Inspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc., to ensure safe and cost-effective performance with preventative maintenance in mind
  • Deliver orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and customers’ needs
  • Maintain communications with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received
  • Document delivery, accuracy, and receipt of order by customers according to company directives and report any discrepancies to company
  • Increase customer satisfaction by collecting information, feedback on service and resolving complaints per company policy; communicate information back to manager
  • Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment, as required
  • Maintain a safe driving record free of violations
  • Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies, as required
  • Perform warehouse and other duties assigned by manager, as needed
  • Follow company policies and procedures
