Job summary

Acme Tools in Cedar Rapids, IA is hiring a Delivery Driver to join our team full-time. You will perform warehouse tasks, drive company vehicles for customer deliveries, and assist with inventory and shipments while maintaining safety and organization on site.

Experience with driving a pickup and trailer, willingness to work outdoors in all seasons, and basic computer/inventory software skills are required. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a family-owned, growth-minded work

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse tasks to support sales distribution.
• Drive company vehicle to transport items to customers or other Acme Tools locations.
• Unload freight from trucks and trailers and check for damage.
• Use inventory system to scan/enter products and ensure accuracy.
• Maintain organized stock on sales floor and warehouse shelves.
• Prepare shipments and load products onto trucks or customer vehicles.
• Assist with property maintenance and safety practices.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Various warehouse tasks to support all sales distribution points
• Driving a company vehicle to transport items from warehouse to customer or to pick up items from various locations
• Unloading freight from trucks and trailers using manual and motorized equipment
• Comparing goods received and packing slips for order accuracy, inspecting for any damage, and notifying your supervisor of any discrepancies
• Scanning or entering products into the inventory control system or related computer program
• Maintaining consistent and adequate stock of products on the sales floor and warehouse shelves in a neat and orderly condition
• Using manual or motorized equipment to transport inventory between the warehouse and store locations
• Participating in scheduled inventory events (physical inventory counts, etc.)
• Preparing shipments for customers or other Acme Tools locations
• Accurately picking items from customers' orders, shipping orders, or requisitions, preparing shipments, and loading products onto trucks, trailers, or customers' vehicles
• Loading, unloading, and organizing merchandise
• Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse to ensure accessibility and safety
• Helping with property maintenance (lawn care, snow removal, etc.)
• Maintaining a safe and secure work environment by adhering and striving to improve safety standards and reporting any suspicious activity
• Completing related tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
• Experience driving a pick-up and trailer combo
• To be willing to work outdoors in all seasons
• Computer skills and the ability to learn new software
• To be willing and able to work on powered equipment (forklift, etc.)

We'd Love if You Have:

• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand on a hard surface for the majority of your shift
• Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
