Job summary

Giddings ISD in Giddings, Texas is seeking a Delivery Driver to support interoffice mail, delivery of supplies, and campus operations. This part-time, non-exempt role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and starts immediately.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift 60 lbs repeatedly, read and follow directions, and basic computer skills. Excellent safety and reliability are essential for serving staff and students.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Valid operator's license required.
• Must read and follow directions.
• Must be able to lift, twist, and bend frequently.
• Must carry a minimum of 60 lbs repeatedly and move with a 2-wheeler.
• Must push and pull a minimum of 60 lbs frequently.
• Must possess basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, sort and deliver interoffice mail as scheduled.
• Organize and prepare surplus items for sale, distribution or disposal.
• Organize, label, and properly store district prints, specification books, operating manuals and district records.
• Consolidate trips and loads so that tasks and errands are carried out efficiently.
• Operate vehicle/bus and lift safely while picking up and delivering supplies or equipment.
• Respond to approved work orders in a timely manner.
• Assist in filling orders and staging loads for the next delivery.
• Deliver breakfast and lunch to assigned campus
• Communicate effectively with others.
• Provide excellent service to staff, co-workers, patrons, and students.
• Attend meetings as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to read and follow a series of directions or instructions.
• Must be able to lift, turn, twist, and bend on a frequent basis.

• Must be able to push and pull a minimum of 60 lbs. on a frequent basis.
