Job summary

Hawkins, Inc. in Camby, IN is seeking a route sales/delivery professional to load and unload trucks, deliver products, and ensure safe handling of materials in a chemical environment.

You will operate necessary equipment, complete paperwork, and maintain records while meeting safety and regulatory standards. CDL Class B with tanker/HAZMAT endorsements and 1–3 years driving experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Class B CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements preferred; valid driving record.
• Experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks safely and deliver products to customer sites.
• Operate equipment and handle hazardous materials per DOT standards.
• Complete shipping/receiving paperwork and inventory records.
• Perform minor vehicle/equipment maintenance and inspections.
• Communicate safety, compliance, and equipment needs to supervision.
• Adhere to SOPs and environmental, safety, and health regulations.
• Travel 0–20% as required.

About the Job

Load and unload trucks to deliver products in a safe, timely and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Professionally deliver products to internal and external customer sites
• Responsible for knowing the equipment (forklift, hose, pump, etc.) and process operations of
  handling, storing, shipping and transporting hazardous materials compliant with DOT
  standards
• Accurately complete required documentation in paper form and/or on a computer, including
  shipping and receiving paperwork, inventory sheets, inspection reports, etc.
• Provide routine minor maintenance and inspection of vehicles and equipment
• Apply all product quality and safety standards as well as report any product safety incidents to
  the Supervisor, Manager, or designated back‑up (applicable to positions working in
  accordance with specific plant or company certifications).
• Communicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identified
• Ability to safely operate independently while adhering to all company Standard Operating
  Procedure (SOP)s and Complying with all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety and health
  regulations
• Perform other miscellaneous related duties, as needed

About You

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• 1-3 years previous driving experience required
• Currently holding a Class B CDL with ability to obtain tanker and HAZMAT endorsements
• Satisfactory driving records
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office required; prior MRP or ERP experience
  preferred
• Experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment preferred

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing,
  walking, climbing, bending, pushing, reaching, and pulling
• Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs and ladders
• Ability to wear PPE and equipment such as safety shoes, face shields, safety glasses, safety
  goggles, hearing protection, gloves and a hard hat; chemical suits and a hair/beard net when
  required
• Ability to safely operate an industrial forklift when required
• Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements (for respirator use, SQF-certified
  environments, etc.)
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
• Willing to work around chemicals and industrial machinery
