Delivery Assistant (Seasonal) – Minneapolis, MN

Golden Valley Supply (GVS) is a leading independent distributor of interior finish commercial building materials. The Delivery Assistant supports our delivery operations by accurately preparing and loading building materials for delivery, assisting drivers with customer interactions, and ensuring timely and safe deliveries. This role is essential for maintaining high client satisfaction and contributes to overall efficiency. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining our commitment to exceptional service and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and load products onto company vehicles for delivery to clients.
• Assist Delivery Drivers with the organization and delivery of products at job sites.
• Load and unload products and materials safely and efficiently.
• Follow all warehouse, delivery, and job site safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself and your team.
• Complete necessary documentation, including order picking reports, checklists, and proof of delivery (POD) receipts.
• Assist walk-in customers in preparing and loading materials upon pickup at the warehouse.
• Uphold exceptional client service standards.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
• Able to begin workday as early as 5:30 AM, M-F.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 pounds and performing repetitive movements such as bending, stooping, twisting, pulling, and pushing.
• Ability to carry products up flights of stairs and maneuver on uneven or unpaved surfaces like those found at a construction site.
• Experience or the ability to utilize delivery tools or equipment to assist with safety, ergonomics and efficiency including carts, ramps, lift gates and pallet jacks.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills in diverse situations.
• Commitment to providing outstanding client service through reliable and efficient product delivery.
• Dependable with a strong attendance record. Ability to take responsibility for expected job duties and expectations.
