Job summary

Commercial Delivery Driver (Non-CDL)

Golden Valley Supply (GVS) is a leading independent distributor of interior finish commercial building materials. The Commercial Delivery Driver (non-CDL) will be responsible for delivering commercial construction materials and interior finish goods to clients and jobsites throughout South Dakota, while ensuring timely and safe transportation. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining our commitment to exceptional service and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately pick, pull, palletize, and stage products from warehouse, and load onto company-owned vehicles for delivery. Our fleet of well-maintained commercial vehicles (up to 26,000 GVW) range from heavy duty pick-up trucks to 26’ box and straight trucks.
• Safely operate delivery vehicles in accordance with DOT regulations to transport building materials to various locations throughout South Dakota.
• Complete pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate delivery records and driving logs.
• Load/unload materials at jobsites while adhering to company and jobsite safety protocols.
• Communicate with manager, warehouse, sales staff and clients regarding deliveries and any potential issues.
• Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
• Help walk-in customers by pulling, wrapping and loading material.
• Assist in warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management.

Requirements / Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• You enjoy being in a physically active role and bring core strength, agility and stamina with the ability to repetitively lift/carry up to 75 pounds safely.
• Prior delivery experience (furniture, appliance, or moving preferred; NO food delivery or ride share).
• Warehouse, shipping/receiving, or forklift experience a plus.
• Strong communication, organizational skills, and general digital literacy.
• Dependable attendance and ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be a self-starter and be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
• Highly organized, ability to act quickly while still paying attention to detail.
• Hold yourself to a higher standard and exhibit a high level of integrity.
• You place a high priority on safety and contribute to creating a safe workplace.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.

Physical Requirements

• Employees must use safe lifting techniques. Driver’s will be routinely bending, twisting, reaching, pulling/pushing.
• There is repetitive lifting up to 75 pounds over the shoulder and/or lifting, carrying product up to 75 pounds up multiple flights of stairs. Trucks can hold up to 200 cartons of product weighing up to 75 pounds that the driver is responsible for delivering.
