Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Delicatessen Clerk to provide friendly customer service, handle orders, and operate the department register. You will assist shoppers, ensure fresh food, and maintain a clean, safe workspace in a fast-paced Delicatessen area.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, taking orders, coordinating with team members, following sanitation procedures, and preparing or replenishing deli products as needed. This is an in-store, on-site role requiring 18+ years old applicants.

Qualifications

• Must understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, and request supplies orally or in writing.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner in the store.
• Assists customers by escorting to products, securing items, and handling requests.
• Takes customer orders at the delicatessen counter and runs department registers.
• Maintains cleanliness and follows sanitation procedures in the work area.
• Reviews orders for the day and ensures adequate food supply and production lists.
• Keeps personal hygiene and dress standards and reports to work on schedule.
