Job summary

Kroger is seeking a Deli Clerk to deliver outstanding customer service and maintain a clean, safe deli area. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales goals and uphold Kroger’s core values while engaging customers and supporting team members.

Responsibilities include preparing deli items, following recipes, labeling and rotating products, and ensuring quality and freshness while providing helpful product information and suggestions.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Desire to understand food production and basic techniques.

• Excellent work ethic in a fast-paced environment.
• Good basic math skills.
• Ability to obtain a current food handler permit after employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars per customer requests.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment such as fryers and slicers.
• Ensure all deli items are labeled, dated, rotated, and monitored for quality and freshness.
• Gain knowledge of products sold within the deli department and respond to questions or make suggestions.
• Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs promptly, and model suggestive selling techniques.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Be able to perform the essential functions of the position and other duties as assigned by store leadership.
