Job Summary
Our Deli Team Leader manages the entire Deli Team and keeps it running like a well-oiled machine. You'll be the one who Team Members and guests look to for guidance on the best choices for school lunches and holiday party platters! Leaders are accountable for the operating performance of the department at all times. Be a Leader by representing the organization in a professional manner. Promote and develop individuals with mutual respect, inclusion, diversity, and dignity. Coach Team Members on a regular basis with timely feedback — identify opportunities for development and coach for success.

Job Description

• Experience Required: Retail work experience or Store Leader recommendation
• Experience Desired: Retail leadership or supervisory experience; Successful performance as a Peer Trainer, in-store champion, or similar role; Satisfactory performance and discipline record
• Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification or Licensing Required: Food Safety
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Interview, select, and train Team Members
• Direct the work of Team Members
• Appraise Team Members’ productivity and efficiency for promotions or changes in status
• Handle Team Member issues including complaints
• Discipline Team Members
• Plan and assign work among Team Members
• Ensure safety and security of Team Members and the store
• Manage the department or store budget and inventory
• Monitor and implement compliance measures
• Evaluate training to reduce turnover and promote efficiency
• Provide motivational leadership, promote respect, and set an example
• Identify team strengths and opportunities; think strategically
• Develop future leaders and promote diversity and inclusion
• Maintain safety as a top priority
• Inspire the team and guests with a passion for food
• Set and reach sales and profit goals, manage shrink
• Communicate effectively with the team and merchandising
• Improve business through innovative plans
• Analyze financial and operational reports to improve performance
• Oversee inventory accuracy and fluctuations
