Albertsons Companies in Irvine is seeking a friendly Deli Clerk to help customers select deli meats, cheeses, hot foods, and ready-to-eat items while delivering a welcoming, efficient service. You’ll assist with slicing, assembling, and portioning, and ensure accuracy and speed during busy periods.

The role emphasizes stocking, cleaning, and maintaining attractive displays, monitoring freshness and temperature, and following food-safety guidelines.

Formación

• Customer Interaction Skills: Clear communication when taking orders in person or by phone
• Food Preparation Skills: Experience preparing deli products, including slicing, assembling, and portioning
• Product Knowledge: Understanding of deli meats, cheeses, prepared foods, and hot case items
• Attention to Detail: Accuracy in portioning, labeling, pricing, and order completion
• Organization & Time Management: Managing multiple tasks while maintaining workflow and service speed
• Merchandising Awareness: Keeping display cases stocked, clean, and visually consistent
• Cash Handling: Processing transactions and making accurate change using register systems (varies by location)
• Operational Awareness: Following food safety, sanitation, and company procedures
• Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast‑paced environment with changing customer demand
• Physical Capability: Comfort with standing for extended periods, lifting product up to 35lbs, and working in varying temperatures

Responsabilidades

• Preparing fresh deli items and assisting customers with selections
• Slicing meats and cheeses, assembling and portioning for grab‑and‑go options
• Keeping the department stocked, clean, and ready throughout the day
• Preparing hot and cold items, maintaining displays, and monitoring freshness
• Restocking, taking orders, and working with equipment in a fast-paced environment
