Hansen's IGA Market in Elkhorn, WI is seeking a Deli Associate to deliver best-in-class customer service at the deli counter and on the sales floor. You will weigh, package, label items, slice meats and cheeses, and help prepare daily salad bar and deli items according to recipes.

This role emphasizes teamwork, quick service, proper sanitation, and safe operation of deli equipment. Training and mentoring of new staff may be involved; customers' needs drive daily priorities.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older to operate deli equipment.
• Eagerness to interact with customers.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers in the Deli Department while modeling Hansen’s IGA Market culture and providing “best in class” customer service, which includes greeting, engaging, delighting and thanking every guest for their business.
• Slicing meats and cheeses using the deli slicer.
• Weigh, package, price and label Deli items.
• Assist customers with answering questions and making recommendations.
• Take and fulfill customer orders via phone and in person.
• Prepare salad bar items, various deli salads, pizzas, sandwiches/wraps, and dips according to the daily production schedule.
• Assist with maintaining the back cooler including rotating stock, dating and cleaning.
• Assist Deli Department with stocking, rotating and facing the Deli wall.
• Assist Deli Chef and Cook with minimal food preparation.
• Maintain sanitation and temperature logs as needed.
• Operate, maintain and clean deli equipment including knives, ovens, fryers, dishwashers, coolers and slicers.
• Assist with the training and mentoring of new associates in the Deli Department.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and procedures.
• Assist with all other Deli Department duties as needed.
