Job summary

Hansen’s IGA Market in Elroy, WI is seeking a Deli Associate to deliver friendly service at the deli counter and on the sales floor. You will weigh, package and label deli items, slice meats and cheeses, and help prepare the salad bar and dips according to recipes.

The role requires ability to operate deli equipment, assist customers, and maintain clean, organized back coolers. Strong teamwork and customer interaction are essential for daily duties.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old due to deli equipment operation.
• Eagerness to interact with customers.
• Strong sense of team and anticipating team needs.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and efficient manner.
• Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently.
• Excellent time management and organization skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers at the Deli counter with best-in-class service.
• Slicing meats and cheeses using the deli slicer.
• Weigh, package, price and label deli items.
• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Take and fulfill customer orders via phone and in person.
• Prepare salad bar items, various deli salads, pizzas, sandwiches/wraps, and dips.
• Maintain back coolers, rotate stock and cleaning.
• Assist with stocking, rotating and facing the Deli wall.
• Assist Deli Chef and Cook with minimal food preparation.
• Maintain sanitation and temperature logs.
• Operate, maintain and clean deli equipment including knives, ovens, fryers, etc.
• Assist with training and mentoring of new associates.
