Job summary

Hometown Grocers, Inc. is seeking a Deli Clerk to assist guests with locating items, prepare orders, and provide excellent service in a fast-paced deli environment. The role focuses on food safety, quality control, and efficient handling of perishable products.

As a part-time hourly position, the clerk will support inventory upkeep, temperature monitoring, and timely order fulfillment while maintaining strong guest relations and a positive store presence.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide excellent guest service and handle diverse guest requests.
• Strong verbal and written communication in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety policies and temperature controls.
• Ability to apply on-the-job safety training and operate deli equipment safely.
• Understanding of perishable department operations and merchandising.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests with locating items on or off the sales floor.
• Receive, prepare and fulfill guest orders and special requests.
• Answer deli department phones professionally to help guests.
• Address guest concerns and resolve issues using the Basics approach.
• Maintain high quality by inspecting, rotating, and restocking deli products at proper temperatures.
