Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company seeks a diligent deli associate to prepare hot and cold deli items, and to assist customers with order requests while maintaining attractive presentation. You will work under supervision, rotate stock, follow food safety standards, and provide friendly service, contributing to a clean, safe store environment and a positive shopping experience for guests.

Experience is not required; on-the-job training is provided; must be at least 16 years old and 18 to operate

Qualifications

• Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes.
• Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and/or calibrated scales.
• Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as a slicer.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment.
• Ability to safely work with objects with sharp edges.
• Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and partners in written and verbal form.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assists deli personnel with slicing, weighing, packaging, labeling, and preparing hot and cold deli food.
• Cleans, assembles, and prepares equipment for operation; checks working order.
• Adheres to quality control and food safety standards by stocking and rotating deli products.
• Stacks pallets and sorts product according to efficiency standards.
• Greets customers and takes orders by phone and in person; promotes sales.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment in line with procedures.
