Job summary

Geisslers Supermarket in Granby, CT, seeks a Deli/Seafood Department Supervisor to provide quality customer service, directing and supervising all functions and activities of the Deli/Seafood Department personnel; to achieve the sales and profit goals established for the department, and to maintain and operate the Deli/Seafood department in an efficient manner within store policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school education or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience preferably in a Deli/Seafood environment or similar.
• ServeSafe Certified.
• Be familiar with all products carried in the Deli Department.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all functions and activities of the Deli/Seafood Department personnel.
• Enforce safety and sanitation standards and meet health regulations.
• Greet customers and provide quality customer service.
• Assign and supervise staff to meet merchandising and production plans; maintain staff relations.
• Train department personnel in store methods and procedures.
• Manage staff schedules, payroll, and coverage; ensure proper dress code.
• Meet or exceed gross margin, sales targets, and monthly projections.
• Oversee receiving, inventory, rotation (FIFO), and display planning for max turnover.
• Ensure POS accuracy and integrity; monitor shrink and conduct training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
