Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the following functions, in addition to other duties as assigned:

1. Keeps Deli service areas well stocked and appealing to meet customer demands. Greets customers, answers questions, and resolves concerns professionally.
2. Ensures freshness and proper condition of merchandise, handles spoiled or damaged products, and rotates stock appropriately.
3. Operates slicing equipment to prepare meats and cheeses, packages items, and prepares ready-to-eat foods and platters.
4. Follows recipes and safety policies when preparing various hot and cold foods.
5. May operate cash register, following proper money handling procedures and legal requirements for tobacco and alcohol sales.
6. Maintains sanitation standards, follows cleaning schedules, and disposes of trash properly.
7. Assists in inventory control, minimizes losses, and handles products according to company standards.
8. May assist with receiving deliveries and operating equipment like a power jack, if trained.
9. Ensures department and store smooth operation through teamwork and continuous improvement.
10. Utilizes all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly.
11. May assist in other departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
