Job summary

The Winn-Dixie Company is seeking a Deli Department Manager in Florida to oversee daily operations, drive customer satisfaction, and lead a team to deliver fresh, high-quality deli products. You will balance hands-on work with leadership, scheduling, and compliance responsibilities.

The role requires a hands-on leader who can coach staff, uphold safety standards, and execute merchandising plans while maintaining high standards of customer service and product quality.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Operate deli equipment (e.g., slicer, fryer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter and pricing gun) according to company guidelines.
• Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department.
• Possession of Food Safety Certification or the ability to obtain same within 180 days of placement.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily deli department operations with focus on freshness, quality, and value.
• Promotes and executes merchandising plans while maintaining standards and inventory levels.
• Leads, trains, and develops team members and coaches performance.
• Ensures compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
• Manages scheduling, administrative tasks, and coordination with store leadership.
• Addresses customer requests and special orders to ensure high service levels.
