Job summary

Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is seeking an experienced Deli Manager for our gourmet store to lead the Deli Team, oversee daily operations, and ensure top-quality service and fresh, delicious products.

You will hire and train staff, manage cutting, packing, inventory, and customer interactions while maintaining safety and freshness. A strong background in deli operations and people leadership is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in a deli as an Assistant Manager or Manager.
• Strong knowledge of deli meat cutting, salad making, and customer service counter operations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Deli Department, including hiring, training, and supervising staff.
• Oversee duties such as cutting, serving, packaging, and other counter tasks.
• Maintain product storage, rotation, labeling, and pricing accuracy.
• Schedule and assign work, monitor performance, and provide coaching.
• Track inventory and maintain stock to prevent shortages or overstock.
• Respond to customer and employee queries or complaints professionally.
• Operate deli machines and equipment safely.
• Receive, unload, and stock food items.
• Keep the deli area clean, safe, and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
