Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Deli Manager in Los Angeles to lead the deli team, oversee inventory, pricing integrity, training, and operation details with a focus on excellence. This fast-paced role requires efficiency and a passion for delivering exceptional results.

You will greet guests, offer recommendations, manage order guides, stock rotations, and coordinate meat, cheese, and CMS preparations. Coaching through on-the-job training and internal platforms ensures top-notch guest service.

Qualifications

• 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality; or 5 years in related management roles.
• Ability to read planograms, layouts, and schematics for merchandising.
• Must be at least 18 years old; working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests and assisting them with information in a friendly, timely manner.
• Making recommendations and accommodating guest requests.
• Managing order guides, deadlines, and reducing shrink and damage.
• Receiving/stocking of goods following rotation standards.
• Direct teams to handle, slice, and prepare meats, cheeses, and CMS.
• Coach and train team members on-the-job and via internal training platform to deliver excellent guest service.

About the Position:

As the Deli Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity, training, and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence to drive results.

What You'll Do:

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely information
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage

• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of the department's meat, cheeses, and Convenient Meal Solutions (CMS) throughout the day
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members "on-the-job" as well as through The Fresh Market's internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you'll need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old
