Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Deli Manager in Fort Wayne, IN to lead the deli team, manage inventory, uphold pricing integrity, and drive operational excellence. This fast-paced role requires attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality guest experiences.

You will train and coach team members, ensure proper receiving and stocking, and guide execution of merchandising plans across meats, cheeses, and CMS throughout the day. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and proactively assist them with accurate and timely information
• Make recommendations and accommodate requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods following rotation standards when replenishing product levels
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of the department’s meat, cheeses, and CMS throughout the day
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members on-the-job and through internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner

About The Position

As the Deli Manager, you are taking the lead in directing team members, managing department inventory, pricing integrity, training, and other operational processes that require significant attention to detail. This is a fast-paced position that requires efficiency, effectiveness, and a passion for excellence to drive results.

What You'll Do

Availability:

This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old
