Job description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards. Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Deli department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Deli operations. Minimum requirements:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Ability to handle stressful situations

Desired qualifications:

Responsibilities include:

  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve goals.
  • Establish performance goals and empower associates.
  • Train and develop staff, participate in performance appraisals.
  • Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
  • Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer questions.
  • Slice deli meats and cheeses, offer samples, inform customers of specials.
  • Ensure product freshness and correct portion sizes.
  • Recommend deli items, use equipment according to guidelines.
  • Prepare foods, follow safety and temperature logs.
  • Stay current with promotions and ads.
  • Assist in budgeting, inventory, and financial reviews.
  • Train staff on inventory and computer systems.
  • Follow food safety and safety procedures, maintain equipment.
  • Report safety risks, accidents, and illegal activities.
  • Perform essential functions with or without accommodations.
