Job summary

Lowes Foods is seeking a deli department team member to provide excellent guest service and maintain top product quality. You will greet guests, offer samples, and explain deli options while ensuring freshness and proper sanitation across the department.

You will assist with receiving and stocking, communicate guest requests to supervision, and help keep the area neat and well-groomed. This role supports a fast-paced retail environment and requires standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Capability to lift 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Effective communication, customer service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests politely and interact with guests.
• Perform assigned duties in a fast-paced environment while interacting with guests and team members.
• Explain products available in the deli area (ingredients, flavors, menu items).
• Offer samples and explain offerings as needed.
• Prepare products for sale (frying, cutting, slicing, weighing, pricing, cooking).
• Maintain product level, quality and freshness per station guidelines.
• Keep cooler, freezer, prep and sales areas sanitary.
• Communicate guest requests to management and fulfill promptly.
• Report temperature/product breakdowns to supervisor.
• Keep supply and work area neat and tidy at all times.
• Maintain proper grooming and uniform standards.
• Assist front end duties to minimize guest wait times.
• Announce specials and sale information over PA system.
• Assist in product receiving and storage.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
