Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related field.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication skills; able to take direction and work in a team.
• Able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Must lift/carry up to 70 lbs. and stand for long periods.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; maintain a clean deli area.
• Operate deli equipment safely and adhere to safety and health regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assisting customers in making healthy food choices by preparing fresh meals.
• Providing high level of customer service and ensuring deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented.
• Filling, maintaining, and rotating products and displays.
• Preparing special orders and party trays.
• Operating slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, scales and other deli equipment safely.
• Maintaining a clean, safe deli area and equipment; cleaning shelves, floors, and surfaces.
• Receiving, inspecting, and logging products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality.
