Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is seeking a Deli Associate to help ensure proper stocking, freshness, and pricing in the Deli Department. The role focuses on delivering world-class customer experiences through quality products and friendly service.

Responsibilities include pricing, food preparation, display planning, inventory control, and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards to support department excellence and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Solid understanding of store operations required.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Must have open availability and able to work all hours of operation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Assistant Deli Manager with ensuring proper pricing, weighing, packaging, and displaying of merchandise through audits in the Deli Department.
• Perform product preparation, stocking, and guest service as necessary to achieve department standards.
• Prepare food items for display, assist customers with orders, and rotate deli products by code date.
• Assist maintaining inventory levels and supplies to maximize sales and minimize excess inventory; note discrepancies.
• Maintain knowledge of products and provide recommendations; offer samples to customers.
• Provide world-class customer service throughout the store; use the store tagline on interactions.
• Assist management to ensure deli operations comply with laws and policies.
• Adhere to safety guidelines to protect assets.
• Keep a safe, clean environment to encourage return visits.
• Follow food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures with logs.
• Participate in safety programs and trainings.
• Complete tasks as assigned.
