Job summary

Smith's Food & Drug Centers is seeking a Deli Department Manager to drive outstanding customer service and ensure a safe, clean environment within the store. You will oversee daily deli operations, maintain quality, and support sales goals.

You will also collaborate on staffing, scheduling, and inventory, while implementing department plans, promotions, and budgeting to meet or exceed targets in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Current food handlers permit once employed.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Management experience preferred.
• Deli/retail experience preferred.
• Second language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
• Establish and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Monitor all functions, duties and activities related to the Deli department.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
• Plan and organize inventory, CAO training, and scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Prepare and submit seasonal critiques and assist in budgeting and expense control.
