Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math; ability to handle stressful situations.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Deli experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Communicate information to associates about department and job specifics.
• Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve store goals.
• Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet targets.
• Train and develop associates and participate in performance appraisals.
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Know products in the department and respond to questions.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customers’ requests.
• Offer samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of deli specials.
• Provide fresh products with correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli items to meet customer needs.
• Use deli equipment per company guidelines.
• Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Inform associates about in-store promotions affecting the Deli.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Assist Food Service Manager with budget and P&L reviews.
• Assist in planning and supervising inventory.
• Train on inventory/stocking and COA processes.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain temperatures.
• Reinforce safety programs and report safety concerns.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity; perform essential functions with/without accommodation.
