Job summary

The Fresh Market Inc is seeking a Deli Manager to lead the deli team, manage inventory and pricing integrity, and drive operational excellence with a focus on guest service. The role requires directing team members, training, and ensuring inventory integrity throughout the day.

The ideal candidate will have prior retail or hospitality management experience and a strong ability to follow planograms and merchandising layouts, with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Flexible scheduling is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years of management experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality field or 5 years of related management experience
• Ability to read, understand and follow planograms, layouts, and schematics of the department for merchandising
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be at least 18 years old

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests and proactively assisting them in a friendly manner with accurate and timely information
• Making recommendations and accommodating requests
• Managing order guides/ordering deadlines/reducing shrink/damage
• Properly receiving/stocking of goods that follow rotation standards when replenishing product levels
• Direct teams to handle, slice and prepare a variety of the department’s meat, cheeses, and Convenient Meal Solutions (CMS) throughout the day
• Engage, motivate, coach, and train team members “on-the-job” as well as through The Fresh Market’s internal training platform to provide excellent guest service in a safe and secure manner
• Availability: This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
