Job summary

Coborn's, Inc. is seeking a Deli Department Assistant Manager in Mendota, IL. You will assist the Deli Department Manager with all functions of operating the department and ensure guests at the deli counter receive remarkable service.

This role requires a self-starter who can help with slicing, weighing, packaging and labeling, while directing workload, coaching, and performing evaluations of staff. Strong focus on accuracy, records, and freshness is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience in deli or retail supervision preferred.
• Strong customer service and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Deli Department Manager in all operational functions.
• Direct workload, provide coaching, training and evaluations.
• Supervise staff when in charge of the department.
• Oversee slicing, weighing, packaging and labeling as needed.
• Maintain records, manage expenses, inventory and shrink.
• Control freshness by rotating stock and removing out-of-date items.
