Job summary

The Fresh Market Inc is seeking a Deli Department Lead in Florida to support the Deli Department Manager and coach the team toward delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll supervise daily operations, guide staff, and ensure the department presents its best while solving problems swiftly.

You will work closely with leadership to monitor schedules, inventories, and merchandising, driving guest satisfaction and store profitability through teamwork and hospitality excellence.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, or related settings.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Proven ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience while meeting performance goals.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and MS Office Suite.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Help monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and support ordering processes.
• Act as a resource for team members in the manager’s absence.
• Model and coach hospitality by engaging guests and creating positive experiences.
• Help implement merchandising strategies and promotional plans to maximize sales.
• Assist in analyzing department financial and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with department leaders to drive store success.
• Leverage available technology to perform these tasks.
