Job description

Our Deli Cooks take pride in creating classic recipes and flavors of a traditional New York deli. This key role is critical to our success in executing the highest quality food with speed, accuracy and efficiency. This job is located at our restaurant in the Regency Court Plaza in West Boca Raton.

Since 1981 TooJay’s New York-style Deli has been a fan favorite. With several locations across Florida, we are famous for piled-high sandwiches, hearty portions of homemade comfort foods and made-from-scratch soups, salads and baked goods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble high-quality deli foods with speed, accuracy and efficiency.
• Follow recipes and portion control to ensure consistency.
• Maintain high standards of personal grooming and wear required uniform and PPE as needed.
• Keep kitchen clean and sanitize high-touch points; comply with Covid-19 cleanliness standards.
• Operate microwave, knives, steam table, gas range, convection ovens, meat/bread slicers, check printer, kitchen display system, scales, automatic dishwasher; assist with phone as required.
• Move safely through walk-ins and kitchen; reach overhead, carry trays and cooler bags; bend and crouch as needed; lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience in a restaurant or related field; relevant food service experience preferred.
• Flexible hours; long hours required at times.
• Ability to greet guests in a friendly, service-oriented manner and maintain appropriate distancing when required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and operate listed equipment safely.
