Job summary

Kroger in Cypress, TX is seeking a part-time barista to deliver exceptional Customer 1st service and assist customers with coffee preferences. You will prepare espresso drinks, greet shoppers, and help maintain a clean, well-stocked service area near Cypresswood Dr.

Responsibilities include following cash handling policies, assisting with merchandising, and supporting store initiatives while working flexible shifts in a dynamic retail setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, plus six months of customer service experience.
  • Ability to complete Initial Store Training and pass barista certification with a score of 90% or better.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work weekends on a regular basis, work any shift and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.

Job description

Exceed service standards by providing customers with prompt, quality coffee selection, purchase, and preparation. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Promote and follow company initiatives
  • Greet customers, answer questions, and suggest product to enhance service and meet sales goals
  • Maintain cleanliness of customer service area and equipment
  • Prepare a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and Coffee of the Day to standard
  • Follow store policies and procedures
  • Perform cleaning tasks in accordance with the duty rosters and cleaning standards
  • Follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products
  • Follow cash handling and register policies
  • Follow inventory stocking and recording guidelines
  • Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
