Safeway is seeking a Deli Clerk to provide friendly service and assist customers with deli selections, slicing, and grab-and-go items. You’ll keep the department stocked and running smoothly, ensuring freshness and proper temps throughout the day.

Responsibilities include preparing items, maintaining displays, and assisting customers in a fast-paced environment while following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to operate slicers and food preparation equipment following training and safety guidelines.
• Basic math skills for weighing, portioning, and transactions.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior food service or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help customers choose from deli meats, cheeses, hot foods and prepared items.
• Prepare and slice deli items and assemble grab-and-go options.
• Keep the department stocked, clean, and ready throughout the day.
• Monitor product freshness and temperature; restock and display accordingly.
