Job summary

Homeland Store in Perry, OK is seeking an Entry Level Deli Clerk for part-time hours from 4pm to close. You will greet customers, prepare and sell deli items, and handle cash register transactions.

You’ll ensure proper stocking, safety, and cleanliness, maintain temperatures, and follow health codes. Prior experience not required; a high school diploma is preferred. This role emphasizes teamwork in a fast-paced, employee-owned environment.

Qualifications

• Basic math ability and ability to count.
• Ability to read and follow English instructions and product labels.
• Stable work and educational history.

• Ability to understand store policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers and explain store policies.
• Wrap, package and sell deli items (sandwiches, pizza, salads, etc.).
• Process purchases quickly and accurately using a cash register and scanner.
• Maintain cooler/preparation area and rotate stock per guidelines.
• Adhere to health codes and keep the area clean and sanitary.
• Transport and stock merchandise and display it properly.
• Ensure safety and report hazards to a supervisor.
• Operate deli equipment as required and follow age restrictions for certain tools.
• Check temperatures four times daily and document readings.
• Record out-of-stock conditions and inform management.
• Stock display cases and maintain department appearance.
