Job summary

Gerrity's Supermarkets is hiring a Deli Clerk to support the Deli Department under the Deli Manager. You will greet customers, slice and weigh deli meats and cheeses, and help maintain cleanliness and stock levels while upholding our customer service standards.

Compliance with policies and dress code is required. Ideal candidates are at least 18 years old, able to lift up to 40 pounds, and capable of reading, writing and understanding English.

Qualifications

• No minimum educational requirement
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
• Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language

Responsibilities

• Greets and waits on customer and thanks customer upon their complete satisfaction
• Slices and weighs deli meats and cheeses to the satisfaction of the customer
• Maintains and stocks all designated department areas
• Cleans all department equipment periodically throughout their shift and at close of business
• Always maintains cleanliness and sanitation throughout department areas
• Set up and tear down all required areas at designated times
• Be aware and communicate to customers all departmental or store promotions
• Will be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
• Comply fully with all safety policies and procedures
• Adhere to Customer Service Pledge at all times
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times while working and strictly adhere to the Dress Code policy
• Attendance at your job is essential to the overall function of your department
• Will comply with all policies contained within the Employee Handbook
• All areas as designated within the Essential Functions of your job responsibilities
