Job summary

7 Cedars Resort is seeking a part-time Deli Clerk for the Longhouse Market & Deli in Sequim, WA. This evening shift role focuses on friendly guest service, accurate order taking, and preparing deli items with attention to quality and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include operating a computerized cash register, maintaining display cases, and supporting a busy, customer‑centric deli team while staying adaptable in a high‑volume environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months deli/espresso or barista experience preferred.
• Ability to learn and maintain menu changes.
• Scale management and knowledge.
• Knowledge and preparation of espresso and non-coffee drinks.
• Ability to use computerized cash register.
• Ability to work in a high stress environment.
• Outstanding interpersonal communications skills to interface with guests and team members.

• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, answer questions, knowledgeable of product served, offer suggestions, take and serve food and beverage orders.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Must be able to operate and prepare foods/beverages using kitchen equipment including panini grill, convection oven, alto sham, microwave, heat seal, gas range/oven, gas grill, dishwasher, Hobart scale, food slicer, coffee grinder, and espresso machine.
• May prepare deli food items by washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits/vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish.
• Clean and sanitize electric food slicer.
• Process cash and non-cash sales.
• Keep all deli areas, customer tables, and seating areas stocked and clean.
• Must follow Temp Logs and department closing lists.
• Daily dish washing and department cleaning, including mopping, sweeping and taking out trash and cardboard.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
• Must follow all safety rules and regulations.

The Deli Clerk maintains a high level of quality customer service and product presentation to all 7 Cedar Resort guests and 7 Cedar employees. Prepares deli food items in accordance to department recipes and maintains display cases and customer seating areas, ensuring compliance with Resort cleanliness and sanitation standards.

*Native American hiring preference for qualified candidates.
