Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing high-level customer service. Your tasks include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and maintaining food safety standards. Opportunities for growth include learning about products, equipment, and customer service excellence. We seek individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Display outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers.
• Be flexible with scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good communication skills, ability to follow directions, and work well in a team.
• Be capable of answering phones and taking special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. over a distance of 20 feet without mechanical assistance, for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, totaling 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Operate slicers, wrapping, and cooking equipment, maintaining safety standards.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; obtain and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments, such as coolers and freezers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
