New Leaf Community Markets, Inc. is seeking a Deli Clerk to support our Deli department in Half Moon Bay, CA.

The role focuses on serving customers, preparing and presenting deli and prepared foods, stocking cases, and maintaining product quality and freshness throughout the shift. You'll assist with opening/closing routines, help customers with selections, and ensure accurate pricing and handling of orders.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Receives and unloads merchandise; checks quality, count, and condition. Communicates any issues to management and/or the merchandising team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Deli Clerkis responsible for providing service that exceeds the expectations of customers by performing the following duties (other duties may be assigned):

• Prepares Deli/Prepared Foods department for store opening and closing.
• Assists customers with product selection. Shares product knowledge with customers.Makes recommendations and suggestions based on customer needs.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the Deli Clerk is regularly required to stand for long periods; walk; frequently use of hands; hands to finger; and handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The Deli Clerk occasionally is required to reach with hands and arms. The Deli Clerk is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The individual must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision.
