Job summary

Chompie’s Restaurant and Deli, a JRI Hospitality Brand, seeks a hospitality-focused Deli Clerk to greet guests and fulfill deli orders with professional service.

Responsibilities include preparing, slicing, weighing, pricing and merchandising deli items, handling the POS system for transactions and tips, while maintaining health and safety standards across the deli and bakery areas. Flexible shifts offered.

Qualifications

• Must have current Maricopa County Food Service Worker Certification.
• Must be able to greet guests and provide friendly service.
• Ability to prepare and weigh/price deli and bakery items accurately.
• Knowledge of menu items and prices for taking orders.
• Able to use POS system for clock in/out and tips reporting.
• Maintain high hygiene and health safety standards.
• Flexible shifts including mornings, days, evenings, weekends.

We’re looking for hospitality focused Deli Clerks to act as a Chompie’s Ambassador greeting and welcoming

guests to ensure an enjoyable experience, answer questions, and fulfill Deli orders. Deli Clerks are responsible

for preparing, slicing, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and merchandising Deli and Bakery products with the

highest level of professionalism and friendliness, while maintaining the utmost regard for health and safety

regulations.

• Focused on Hospitality, maintain the highest quality of guest service and adhere to our high standards of Health and Safety guidelines, including acquiring and maintaining a current Maricopa County Food Service Worker Certification.


• Understanding first impressions matter ensures all display cases are full of fresh, quality products presented in an eye-appealing manner and that the Deli and Bakery are always clean and safe.


• With a customer service mindset, regularly answer phones before the third ring responding to customer inquiries promptly and professionally.


• Must have a working knowledge of the restaurant menu, including prices and descriptions of Deli and Bakery items to be able to take orders in person and on the phone.


• Able to efficiently and correctly prepare recipes and orders to meet correctly weighing and pricing products on a regular basis.


• Able to understand the Point of Sale (POS) system and be able to use it to accurately record clock in, clock out, and tip reporting.


• Maintains good hygiene and frequent washing of hands to maintain a safe environment for guests and coworkers.


• Be prepared for each shift on time according to scheduled shifts and maintain a regular and predictive attendance record and arrive in proper uniform maintaining a neat and kept appearance conveying a professional image for our guests.


• Able to manage and organize cash handling procedures according to Company policies and procedures and operate all equipment necessary to perform the job duties (e.g., mixer, slicer, toasters, etc.).
