Job summary

SpartanNash—Manistee, MI is seeking a Deli & Bakery Manager to lead daily department operations, supervise staff, monitor inventory, and uphold food safety. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication to drive store performance.

The position involves scheduling, forecasting, and coordinating with store teams to meet company goals while maintaining product quality and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• Two years retail experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Spanish language knowledge is highly desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain inventory in department; ensure product freshness.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, and weight.
• Manage a team for stocking, production, and tasks ensuring quality and rotation.
• Maintain familiarity with products and store promotions.
• Communicate and execute weekly Flight Plan per guidelines.
• Schedule labor, overtime, and payroll expenses for the department.
• Implement Winning Recipe and core values.
• Develop department goals and forecasts.
• Attend daily huddles and meetings; participate in district/company meetings.
• Ensure food safety and safety guidelines are followed.
• Cover for department management including staffing and development.
