Job summary

Harris Teeter is seeking a Full Time Deli Bakery Management Assistant in Apex, North Carolina. You will assist to supervise up to 80 associates in the Fresh Foods Department and support the Department Manager with overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the department.

The role requires strong supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skills, plus the ability to train staff and handle multiple tasks under pressure. A GED or high school diploma is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 years of related experience or training.
• Commitment to customer service and ability to supervise a team in a fast-paced deli/bakery environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist to manage and supervise up to 80 associates in the Fresh Foods Department.
• Assist Department Manager with direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department.
• Interview and train associates; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline staff.
• Address complaints and resolve problems; provide excellent customer service and support to sales goals.
