Job summary

Food Lion is hiring for a Deli/Bakery customer service role in Virginia Beach. You will provide quality service, maintain standards, and support merchandising while following safety guidelines and company manuals.

Primary duties include fast, friendly service, assisting customers, and ensuring proper product handling, sanitation, and policy compliance within the Deli Bakery department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Follow all manuals for processing, labeling, etc.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise per guidelines.
• Ensure proper sanitation and safe food handling in the department.
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies and standard practices.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines.
• Report any accidents per Food Lion procedures to the Manager on Duty.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with name badge on duty.
